Universal WPS online packages for MIG/MAG welding, stick (MMA) welding, stainless steel and pipe to plate fillet welding

Kemppi's offering includes various universal WPS online packages that contain welding procedure specifications for several use cases and welding processes.

Universal WPS for MIG/MAG welding

This comprehensive online package contains 84 MIG/MAG welding procedure specifications compatible with all MIG/MAG welding machines. They are valid when impact-strength requirements apply and cover some of the most used solid, metal-cored, and flux-cored wires. Group M21 shielding gases (according to the ISO 14175 standard) are to be used with the standard WPSs.

Universal WPS for stick (MMA) welding

Kemppi's universal WPS stick (MMA) welding package has been developed based on customer needs. This online package contains all the necessary welding procedure specifications compatible with all stick (MMA) welding machines in an easy-to-understand format. When impact requirements are specified and no impact testing has been performed, our WPSs for stick (MMA) welding can be used for material thicknesses under 12 mm with class ISO 2560-A E 42 4 B 42 H5 consumables. Even if the thickness is greater than 12 mm, they can be used with filler materials Esab OK 48.00, Bohler FOX EV 50, and Elga P48 S. We have carried out impact toughness tests for these filler materials.

Kemppi's standard WPSs may not cover some special applications, such as fillet welds subject to transverse stress.

Universal WPS for MIG/MAG tube welding

The online package contains 28 WPSs developed specifically for MIG/MAG butt welding of structural tubes and pipes. They are also valid when impact-strength requirements apply and cover some of the most used solid and flux-cored wires. As a bonus, the package contains eight WPSs for the Kemppi WiseRoot+ welding process.

Universal WPS for stainless steel

The online package of 21 WPSs has been developed for stick and MIG/MAG welding of butt joints in austenitic stainless structural pipes. They are also valid when impact-strength requirements apply.

Universal WPS for stick (MMA) tube welding

The online package of 8 WPSs has been developed for stick welding of butt joints in structural pipes used in steel structures. Welding procedure specifications are also valid when impact-strength requirements apply.

Universal WPS for pipe to plate fillet welding

The online package with 6 WPSs has been developed for MIG/MAG welding of pipe to plate fillet welds. The package also includes WPS for pipe to plate fillet welds of 30-90 degrees.

You can buy all the WPS online packages directly from Kemppi dealers and distributors.

After the purchase, you will receive a registration key to access the Kemppi WPS Administration site. There, you can see your WPS documents and the WPQR documents associated with them. You can save the documents for yourself or print them.

Save time

Save time

Time is money—and now you can save it by buying the Kemppi Universal WPS package. We have carried out all the necessary welding procedure tests, monitored and approved by the notified body inspector, to ensure that our WPSs help you meet the standards and requirements you need. You can now have them at your fingertips with a few simple clicks. Example calculation: When a company needs a WPS, the welding coordinator has to plan what welding procedure tests need to be carried out, after which the welding coordinator and the welder look for the optimal parameters. Next, the coordinator should write a pWPS, after which they can start the welding procedure test. After hours and hours of testing, WPS is ready. This takes the welding coordinator and the welder 22 hours on average. If these tests are not accepted by the inspecting parties, the procedure will start over, causing the company delays and more costs. Kemppi will provide you with a solution in less than 2 hours, saving you 90 % of the time and you will have your welders welding quicker.

Kemppi's Universal WPS packages can save you and your company money. We have carried out all the necessary welding procedure specification tests, monitored and approved by the notified body inspector, to ensure that our WPSs help you meet the standards and requirements you need. Our professional welders rigorously searched for the best setups and have used them to perform test welds for several hours so you can enjoy the ready-made WPSs. Example calculation: A company needs two welding procedure tests for fillet welds and two for butt welds. The overall cost for carrying out the tests includes materials, testing, labor, and inspection costs. In addition, it isn't always guaranteed that the inspectors will approve these tests and procedures. Kemppi's Universal WPS packages include all the necessary documents a company needs, so you only need to buy one package. The average saving when you account for all those costs is 65%.

Making weld cleaning easy and cost-efficient

Making weld cleaning easy and cost-efficient

Welding is all around us. It binds together the metals to build structures essential to our everyday lives. However, beyond the visible sparks and strong connections, there's an aspect often underestimated: weld cleaning. Especially with stainless steels, proper weld cleaning not only improves the aesthetic appearance of the weld but also ensures its strength, durability, and overall quality.

How to weld aluminum

How to weld aluminum

Some metals, like aluminum, have a naturally occurring, tough surface oxide layer. That surface oxide layer must be removed to enable successful welding. In the case of aluminum alloys, the surface oxide layer has a significantly higher melting temperature (approximately 2000°C) than the melting temperature of the aluminum base material (660°C).
