For carbon-arc gouging, metal is melted with a welding arc and carbon electrode, then molten metal is blown away with a high-pressure compressed air stream that is directed down the length of the electrode. Applications include back gouging, removing weld metal and defects, and assisting with weld preparation. Several of our multi-process welding machines are capable of carbon-arc gouging, but we also offer a dedicated carbon-arc gouging welding machine.
