WiseThin+ short arc process

WiseThin+ short arc process

Optimized short arc process for sheet metal and position welding.

20% faster welding

Weld faster compared to traditional short arc welding.

40% lower shielding gas costs

Lower shielding gas costs due to a possibility to use CO₂.

25% less heat input

Lower heat input results in less deformation and less postprocessing.

Increase welding speed and achieve better quality

WiseThin+ is a tailored shot arc process for manual and automated thin sheet welding. The WiseThin+ process is based on precise voltage measurement and current control. Mixed gas welding characteristics with pure CO₂. Expands the parameter window and thus reduces the need to use smaller wire diameters. Soft and pleasant arc characteristics. Excellent welding characteristics for welding plate thicknesses 0.8…3.0 mm. Reduces heat input and thus deformation – excellent arc ignition for tack and intermittent welds.

20% faster welding with WiseThin+

20% faster welding with WiseThin+

WiseThin+ welding gives excellent welding characteristics for position welding in thicker plates. The arc is steady and easy to handle, and the arc sound is always uniform because of stable short-circuiting. The weld pool flows smoothly to the joint, and there is no risk of undercutting. As a result, there are no spatters. Position PF, 1.2 mm Fe solid wire, Ar+ CO₂ or CO₂ shielding gas, Plate thickness 6.0 mm + 6.0 mm, Wfs = 2.65 m/min → I = 105 A and U = 18.5 V, Fine-tuning setting +1.5.

Save 40% in shielding gas costs

Save 40% in shielding gas costs

With the WiseThin+ optimized welding process, you can weld with CO₂ shielding gas and still get the same quality as with mixed gas. This creates 40% savings in gas costs.

Welding industry – 6 ways to save energy

Welding industry – 6 ways to save energy

The energy crisis is real, and it is here now. It affects the energy-intensive welding industry because welding refers to the uniting or fusing of pieces by using heat and/or compression so that the pieces form a continuum, thus consuming plenty of energy. How can we cut energy consumption in the welding industry? Unless we're prepared to weld by candlelight, we cannot simply refuse to weld until the energy crisis is over. But there is a solution, small changes to daily work can result in significant energy savings in the long run.

Pioneering is a state-of-mind – now and 25 years ago

Experimenting with different ideas, fast and small, then scaling up boldly and even faster - this is my experience of pioneering after a couple of months as Chief Digital Officer at Kemppi. Experimenting was present at Kemppi already 25 years ago, when we developed a new, numeric way to manage arc characteristics and invented the first digital welding power source in the world.
