Industry 4.0 in welding – myth or reality?
Industry 4.0 refers to the Fourth Industrial Revolution. What does it mean, and how does it fit into the conservative world of welding? Can the intelligence of a welding machine truly bring additional value to an organization and benefit welders as well?

Stop the hassle and just get to work
Imagine 40 welders in a workshop. Each of them has 4–5 different welding qualifications which put the total at around a hefty 200 qualification certificates. As usual, these documents have to be prolonged every six months.

Accurate welding data monitoring and cost-savings that count
When it comes to demanding welding tasks, quality matters more than quantity. Furthermore, the current standards – especially the norms applied to subsea welding – require that quality is constantly observed, measured, and reported. Without digital quality control systems, this task may prove to be overly costly and time-consuming. Kemppi’s WeldEye Quality Control is a universal software solution for verifying compliance of welding quality with welding procedure specifications. When integrated into the customer’s operating systems, WeldEye Quality Control brings considerable savings. Let’s listen to some user experiences from Norway.

Say bye-bye to costly weld repairs with 100% WPS compliance
No matter who you are, what you do or where you are in the world, you are never far from a weld. People might not always realize it when they go about their business, but high-quality welding has a daily role in our built environments. Welds hold buildings, ships and steel frames hidden within walls securely together.

Pioneering is a state-of-mind – now and 25 years ago
Experimenting with different ideas, fast and small, then scaling up boldly and even faster - this is my experience of pioneering after a couple of months as Chief Digital Officer at Kemppi. Experimenting was present at Kemppi already 25 years ago, when we developed a new, numeric way to manage arc characteristics and invented the first digital welding power source in the world.
